I’m Jessy. I grew up in the Mojave Desert in a meth lab on the edge of nowhere and writing saved my life.

From the Dust

From the Dust is a compilation of stories and songs that explore some of the most raw and unseen aspects of addiction, identity, and love. This work of creative nonfiction, which precedes Jessy Easton’s memoir, gives readers a glimpse into the life of a young girl as she chases the shadow of her mother through the California deserts, seeking to find herself in the process.

With the turn of each page, Easton’s writing conveys a combination of conviction and heart-wrenching vulnerability that is only attainable through experience and deep introspection. Easton utilizes honesty and poetic allure to entrench readers in the familiarity of the human condition, leaving them aching for more. She has taken some of her life’s greatest struggles and crafted this work in a way that not only exposes some of her most haunting life experiences but invites her readers to explore their own in the process. From the Dust is a breathless, sincere introduction to Easton’s life, memory, and pursuit of understanding.

Lume Collective

Jessy is hosting a restorative come-as-you-are retreat in the Blue Ridge Mountains where she will be leading women through an immersive practice of guided journaling, one where she will be diving into rhythms and rituals and how they bring us back home to ourselves—discovering our truths, honoring the ones that help us become more of who we are and who we want to be and letting go of what no longer fits our emerging self.

There will be other gentle and healing offerings such as morning meditations, yoga, a cacao ceremony, and a private portrait session for guests to honor themselves in this space and time. The retreat is currently sold out, but you can learn more here and join the interest list.

Words After Dark

In this video series, I read pieces of my writing and works from some of my favorite authors and poets.

About

Jessy discovered her love for storytelling when she became a publicist for Atlantic Records directly out of college. It was at Atlantic that she used the art of storytelling as a tool in securing press for online, print, and television to further advance the artist’s exposure, fan loyalty, and community engagement.

Jessy later found her way into the world of social media and went on to start Easton Rhodes, Inc., a digital marketing company that focuses on telling stories to help people and brands develop their message, grow their community, and increase their social engagement.

In addition, Jessy founded Rhodes Wedding Co. with her husband, an engagement ring and wedding band company that designs one-of-a-kind pieces that tell the world’s great love stories. She currently focuses on the creative direction of the brand as well as sales, marketing, brand partnerships, and community growth and engagement on Instagram.

She also co-founded Lume, a restorative retreat she hosts in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina where she leads women through an immersive practice of artistic guided journaling and other healing offerings such as yoga, meditation, and ceremony.

Following her ultimate passion for creative writing, she recently completed her memoir and is currently querying agents. Jessy considers herself a life-long learner and continues to take writing classes to further develop her craft. Her writing has been featured in the Rappahannock Review, Good River Review, Beacon Quarterly, Marrow Magazine, among others.

Born in the Mojave Desert of California, Jessy now lives in the Blue Ridge Mountains with her husband, their son Pressley, and their four black dogs.
