black lives matter

Rhetorical question: Why is there such a resistance to ending racism? This shouldn’t even be something we need to fight for. It shouldn’t even be something we need to discuss. Equality should be the norm. But it’s not and that’s exactly why we must keep up the fight. Change takes time, persistence and energy. We can’t stop now.

Interrupting the forces of racism is ongoing, lifelong work because the forces conditioning us into racist frameworks are always at play; our learning will never be finished.

Never stop learning. Read what makes you comfortable, what pushes you past the boundaries you were raised within. Read with those you love and learn how to talk about the things you don’t understand. Support black authors and those who are doing anti-racism work. Educate yourself and those around you. Stretch yourself and turn your values into action. Do the work.
