It’s National Poetry Day so I’d like to shine a bright and beautiful light onto Perry Rhodes and his new single, ‘The Scent of Books’

San Francisco ⁣
And chemistry ⁣
Threads of lightening⁣
Amphetamines⁣
I’d keep it all together ⁣
But that ain’t workin anymore⁣
⁣
Were we coffee⁣
Or morphine ⁣
The scent of books⁣
Or old melodies ⁣
I’d hideout in those pages⁣
But that ain’t workin anymore⁣
⁣
Don’t ever change ⁣
Watching your beauty running off ⁣
in those street lights⁣
Gettin’ covered in rain⁣
⁣
Were we neon writhing ⁣
Or the ecstasy ⁣
The blood still burning⁣
Or Just apologies ⁣
I’d keep it all together ⁣
But that ain’t workin anymore⁣
